A725 New Bothwell Bridge
22 February 2021
Expansion Joint Replacement
ESSENTIAL MAINTENANCE ON THE A725 AT NEW BOTHWELL BRIDGE COMMENCES MONDAY 22ND FEBRUARY
Essential maintenance on the northbound A725 at New Bothwell Bridge is taking place from Monday 22nd February until Friday 26th February 2021, between the hours of 8pm and 5am, each night.
This bridge expansion joint replacement scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the condition of the carriageway and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
The work will be carried out using a full closure of the A725 northbound carriageway at this location. A signed diversion route will be in operation.
A725 northbound traffic will be diverted via the exit for High Blantyre on the B758. At the roundabout, traffic will take the third exit onto the B7012 eastbound and at the following roundabout, will take the first exit onto B7012 High Blantyre Road which merges into A724 Burnbank Road at the signal controlled junction . From here, traffic will take the first exit onto the B7071 Bothwell Road and will proceed on this route until the Bellshill Bypass on-slip road where diversion will end.
Our operatives will follow strict physical distancing and hygiene protocols throughout the programme, in line with the Scottish Government’s COVID-19 guidance.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
