A725 Whirlies Bypass
31 May 2021
ESSENTIAL MAINTENANCE ON THE A725 AT WHIRLIES BYPASS COMMENCES MONDAY 31ST MAY
UPDATE (12/05/21): Planned maintenance on the A725 at Whirlies Bypass will now complete at 6am on the morning of Saturday 5th June 2021, all other details remain as published below.
Essential maintenance on the A725 eastbound at Whirlies Bypass is taking place from Monday 31st May until Friday 4th June 2021.
The work will be carried out using a combination of overnight full closures and daytime lane closures.
Full road closures will be required at this location between 8pm and 6am, each night, from Monday 31st May until the morning of Friday 4th June 2021. A signed diversion route will be in operation.
Daytime lane closures will be in place from 6am until 8pm following the overnight closures. During daytime lane closures, full capacity will be maintained with traffic running on the adjacent chevron area.
Traffic intending to travel on the eastbound A725 will be diverted in a southerly direction on the A749 Kingsway towards Whirlies Roundabout. At the roundabout, traffic will take the first exit onto the A725 East Kilbride Expressway to merge with the A725 eastbound carriageway where diversion will end.
Our operatives will follow strict physical distancing and hygiene protocols throughout the programme, in line with the Scottish Government’s COVID-19 guidance.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
