Road Safety Improvements
ESSENTIAL ROAD SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS ON THE A737 AT BEITH COMMENCES MONDAY 22ND FEBRUARY
Essential road safety improvements on the A737 at Beith are taking place from Monday 22nd February until Thursday 25th February 2021, between the hours of 9.30am and 4pm each day.
This scheme, with a value of £60,000, will benefit pedestrians by improving safety at this location with the installation of new vehicle activated signs warning trunk road traffic of pedestrians crossing ahead. Further works will take place at this location in March 2021 in order to complete all of the proposed improvements. This additional work will involve the construction of a section of new footway and uncontrolled pedestrian crossing points. A further press release will be issued in due course.
The work will be carried out using temporary traffic signals installed at the location, north and south of the B706 Junction. We thank road users in advance for their patience while these essential road safety improvements are undertaken.
Our operatives will follow strict physical distancing and hygiene protocols throughout the programme, in line with the Scottish Government’s COVID-19 guidance.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
