A76 Bowhouse Roundabout to Barleith
16 July 2021
SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS ON THE A76 BOWHOUSE ROUNDABOUT COMMENCES THURSDAY 19TH AUGUST
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland as part of the Network Management Contract for the South-West Trunk Road Unit, are undertaking essential maintenance on the A76 between Bowhouse Roundabout and Barleith. Work will take place overnight from Thursday 19th August until Sunday 29th August 2021, between 8pm and 6am, each night.
This scheme, with a value of £728,000, will improve the condition of the A76 carriageway at this location, and reduce the need for more extensive maintenance in future, benefitting around 12,000 vehicles using this route each day.
This scheme requires a full closure of the A76 carriageway for the extent of the works, with a signed diversion in operation.
Northbound traffic will be directed to exit the A76 to the A719 and will continue to Sandyford Toll Roundabout. From here vehicles will follow the A77 to the Bellfield Interchange to re-join the A76 north.
Southbound traffic will follow the same diversion in the opposite direction.
We thank road users for their patience while these essential improvements are underway.
Our operatives will follow strict physical distancing and hygiene protocols throughout the programme, in line with the Scottish Government’s COVID-19 guidance.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
