23 October 2020
ESSENTIAL MAINTENANCE ON A76 DETTINGEN ROUNDABOUT TO LUGAR WATER COMMENCES 23rd OCTOBER
Essential maintenance work will take place on the A76 from Dettingen Roundabout to Lugar Water. These works will be carried out under a full weekend closure and will commence on Friday 23rd October at 8pm and will conclude on Monday 26th October at 6am.
The work, with a value of £355,000 will benefit around 4,000 road users travelling on this stretch of the A76 each day, by continuing to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the trunk road at this location and reducing the need for future maintenance.
This work requires a full closure of the northbound and southbound carriageways of the A76 at this location, with a signed diversion route in operation.
Northbound traffic will be directed to leave the A76 at Dettingen Roundabout, and travel via the A70 and B743 to re-join the A76 at Mauchline.
Southbound traffic will leave the A76 at Catrine Junction and travel via the B743 at Sorn and A70 to re-join the A76 at Dettingen Roundabout.
This scheme has been planned in consultation with Traffic Scotland, the emergency services, public transport operators, haulage firms, utility operators, local businesses and East Ayrshire Council.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
