A77 Mainholm Road
6 January 2021
ESSENTIAL MAINTENANCE ON A77 MAINHOLM ROAD COMMENCES 8th JANUARY
Essential maintenance on the A77 between Holmston Road and Whitletts Roundabout, immediately north of River Ayr Bridge will take place overnight from Friday 8th January until Wednesday 13th January 2021, between 8pm and 6am, each night. The road will re-open as normal out with these times.
This scheme, with a value of £140,000, will benefit around 16,000 vehicles using this route each day by improving the condition of the road surface and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
The work requires a full closure of the northbound carriageway for the extent of the works, with a signed diversion in operation. The southbound carriageway will remain open utilising a convoy system. Access to Mainholm Small Holdings will be maintained each night using a north to south convoy system.
Northbound traffic will be diverted off the A77 at Holmston Roundabout and take the 1st exit onto the A70, at the next roundabout take the 2nd exit onto A79/Station Road, at the next roundabout take the 1st exit onto A79/John Street, at the next roundabout take the 3rd exit onto A719, follow until Whitletts Roundabout to re-join A77 northbound.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
