PLEASE NOTE; date change, works now running from Monday 19th October to Thursday 22nd October.

A77 Resurfacing at Turnberry and Auchendrane

As part of Transport Scotland’s strategic trunk road management programme, Amey will deliver a brace of rescheduled resurfacing schemes for the A77.

Rescheduled programme at Auchendrane will be completed under night time convoy and Turnberry will be completed under daytime convoy. Both were postponed in September due to adverse weather conditions.

In line with the Scottish Government’s COVID-19 guidance, our operatives will follow strict physical distancing protocols throughout the project.

Alan Murray, Amey’s Assistant Planned Maintenance Manager said:

“This is an important section of the trunk road network, and as such is used by emergency services, freight, retail and delivery traffic as part of their essential working. It is vital that we complete these works in order to maintain road safety. Works were last month postponed due to adverse weather conditions. These projects will both be carried out under daytime convoy working.

“Amey on behalf of Transport Scotland, would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers for their patience while we deliver these important improvement projects.”

Works being delivered are:

  • A77 South of Turnberry - Resurfacing 350m of the A77 South of Turnberry under daytime convoy between 7.30am and 6pm on Monday the 12th of October

  • A77 Auchendrane – Resurfacing of 0.8km of the A77 at Auchendrane, south of Ayr, under night time convoy between 8pm and 6am on Monday 19th October until Thursday the 22nd of October

All dates are indicative, and subject to change due to extreme weather events or unforeseen scheduling issues.
