ESSENTIAL MAINTENANCE ON THE M77 BETWEEN JUNCTION 2 AND CORKERHILL FOOTBRIDGE COMMENCES FRIDAY 4TH JUNE
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland as part of the Network Management Contract for the South West Trunk Road Unit, are undertaking essential maintenance on the M77 between Junction 2 and Corkerhill Footbridge, north of White Cart Water, from Friday 4th June until Thursday 10th June 2021 (inclusive), between the hours of 9pm and 6am, each night.
This scheme will benefit over 24,000 vehicles using this route each day, by improving the condition of the carriageway and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
The work will be carried out using a total closure of the M77 northbound carriageway between Junctions 2 and 1 with a signed diversion route in operation.
M77 traffic will be diverted to exit via the Junction 2 off-slip road and will take the third exit at the roundabout to join Fairchild Avenue. From here, traffic will take a left turn onto the B726 Barrhead Road and at the roundabout, will take the fourth exit onto B726 Braidcraft Road. Traffic will proceed on this route and at the following roundabout will take the third exit onto Corkerhill Road. Traffic will be instructed to take a right turn onto Paisley Rd and proceed until taking a left at Helen St, proceeding until taking the third exit at the Rbt to enter Edimston Dr, proceeding on Edmiston Dr until taking the third exit at Broomloan Rd. Traffic will continue on to Broomloan Rd as it transitions into Dumbreck Rd. Traffic will be able to then turn left to re-join the M77 via the Junction 1 on-slip road and diversion will end.
Convoy working will be required for one night between 21:00 and 06:00 on Barrhead Road to facilitate the main works. An additional off and on at Junction 2 diversion will be in place where possible to minimise the travel time for the public.
Our operatives will follow strict physical distancing and hygiene protocols throughout the programme, in line with the Scottish Government’s COVID-19 guidance.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
