LIGHTING IMPROVEMENTS ON A78 INVERKIP ROAD COMMENCE 26th OCTOBER
Work to improve the lighting on the A78 Inverkip Road will take place between Monday 26th October until Friday 13th November 2020. Work will take place from Monday to Friday, from 9.30am to 4pm each day.
The new installation, with a value of £80,000, will further improve safety and reliability on the trunk road network, by providing improved uniformity of, and brighter, lighting on this route. In addition, the new LED and Central Management System (CMS) technology will provide a 65% improvement in energy saving. The new lighting columns and sign poles are constructed from aluminium and have a design life of 50 years, which will assist in reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
This work will be undertaken using progressive single lane closures of the A78 Inverkip Road, with a temporary traffic light system in operation.
This scheme has been planned in consultation with Transport Scotland, Traffic Scotland and Inverclyde Council.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
