A78 Springfield - Largs Yacht Haven

ESSENTIAL MAINTENANCE ON THE A78 COMMENCES THURSDAY 18TH FEBRUARY
Essential maintenance on the A78 between Springfield and Largs Yacht Haven is taking place from Thursday 18th February until Monday 1st March 2021.
This scheme, with a value of £685,573, will benefit around 7,503 vehicles using this route each day, by improving the condition of the carriageway and drainage, reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
Works will be carried out during the hours of 8pm and 6am, but traffic management will remain in place and the A78 will remained closed throughout each of these weekends.
The work will commence at 8pm on Thursday 18th February 2021 until 6am on Friday 19th February 2021, with a two-way convoy system in operation.
WEEKEND FULL CLOSURES
CLOSURE 1: A full closure from 8pm on Friday 19th February until 6am on Monday 22nd February.
CLOSURE 2: A full closure from 8pm on Friday 26th February until 6am on Monday 1st March.
DIVERSION ROUTE (Weekend Full Closures only)
A78 northbound traffic will be diverted at Chapelhill Roundabout onto the B780, Dalry Road to merge onto the eastbound West Kilbride Road. Traffic will continue through James Street, North Street and Braehead to join the B784 and then onto the A760 at Largs Road. From here, traffic will rejoin the A78 at Haylie Brae. Eastbound traffic will be diverted at Kilbirnie onto the B780, Dalry Road.
PLEASE NOTE: There will be single overnight closure of Haylie Brae to A760 Kilbirnie Junction on Thursday 25th February, between 8pm and 6am, ahead of Closure 2. This will involve a single lane closure on the A78 with a convoy system in operation.
Apart from Thursday 25th February, the Haylie Brae to A760 route will remain open.
The SPT rail replacement bus services will be provided with access through these works.
Local access for residents will be provided under escort; and access for emergency services will be maintained throughout.
