A898 BRIDGE EXPANSION JOINT WORK COMMENCES MONDAY 10TH MAY
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland as part of the Network Management Contract for the South West Trunk Road Unit, are undertaking overnight bridge expansion joint replacements on the eastbound A898 carriageway from Monday 10th May until Sunday 16th May 2021. The scheme will take place between the hours of 8pm and 6am, each night.
The work will be carried out using a full road closure at this location with a signed diversion route in operation. A 1.2m safety zone will also be installed around the work extents.
Traffic intending to travel on the A898 eastbound will be diverted onto the westbound carriageway towards Crainlarich and will proceed on this route for approximately 3.5km. At Dunglass Roundabout, traffic will perform a U-turn and will be able to re-join the A898 in an easterly direction.
Our operatives will follow strict physical distancing and hygiene protocols throughout the programme, in line with the Scottish Government’s COVID-19 guidance.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
