ESSENTIAL RESURFACING WORK ON THE M8 BETWEEN JUNCTIONS 16 AND 18 COMMENCES THURSDAY 3RD JUNE
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland as part of the Network Management Contract for the South West Trunk Road Unit, are undertaking essential resurfacing within the ongoing programme of works at the M8 Woodside Viaduct. Resurfacing will take place between Junctions 16 and 18 on Thursday 3rd June and Friday 4th June 2021, between the hours of 10pm and 6am each night.
The work will be carried out using a total closure of the M8 between Junctions 15 and 18 with a signed diversion route in operation. The eastbound carriageway will be closed during the evening of Thursday 3rd June 2021 and the westbound carriageway closure will take place the following evening on Friday 4th June 2021. An additional lane two closure on the eastbound carriageway at M8 Woodside Viaduct, adjacent to the existing lane closures, will also be in place. The lane closure will not affect any slip roads and will be between Junctions 18 and 16. We thank road users for their patience while this essential maintenance is underway.
Our operatives will follow strict physical distancing and hygiene protocols throughout the programme, in line with the Scottish Government’s COVID-19 guidance.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
