M8 and M80 Gantries

OVERHEAD SIGN GANTRY REFURBISHMENTS ON M8 AND M80 COMMENCE 18th JANUARY
Work to refurbish overhead sign gantries on the M8 and M80 will take place from Monday 18th January until Saturday 1st May 2021. Removal and re-erection works will be undertaken overnight, between 10pm and 6am.
This scheme, with a value of £800,000 will improve the reliability of the structures and reduce the need for more extensive maintenance in future.
M8 Junction 18 (eastbound)
This work requires a total closure at the Charing Cross underpass and an off-side lane closure on the westbound M8.
Removal: 18th & 19th January 2021
Re-erection Date: 16th & 17th March 2021
M8 Junction 17 (westbound)
This work requires a total closure of the Charing Cross off ramp and the adjacent Great Western Road off-slip to M8 E/B, and Great Western Road off-slip to M8 W/B.
Removal: 20th & 21st January 2021
Re-erection Date: 7th & 8th March 2021
M8 Junction 14 (eastbound)
This work requires a total closure of the eastbound M8 at Junction 14 and an off-side lane closure on the westbound M8 adjacent to the gantry.
Removal: 22nd and 23rd January 2021
Re-erection Date: 9th & 10th March 2021
M8 Junction 2 (northbound)
This work requires a total closure of the northbound M8 at Junction 2, and an off-side lane closure on the southbound M80 adjacent to the gantry.
Removal: 24th & 25th January 2021
Re-erection Date: 20th April & 1st May 2021
