ESSENTIAL MAINTENANCE AT M8 CHARING CROSS COMMENCES MONDAY 26th APRIL
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are undertaking essential maintenance and investigations on the M8 structures at Charing Cross from Monday 26th April until Friday 30th April 2021 between the hours of 10pm and 6am, each night.
This work will include a second phase of overhead sign gantry flooring repairs on the westbound M8 at this location.
This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the condition of the structures and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
The work will be carried out using a full road closure of the westbound carriageway at this location (between Junctions 15 and 19) with a signed diversion route in operation. There will also be an offside lane closure on the eastbound carriageway at the Charing X concrete repair works.
Traffic travelling westbound on the M8 will be diverted to exit the motorway at Junction 15 and they will be able to re-join via the Junction 19 on-slip road.
Our operatives will follow strict physical distancing and hygiene protocols throughout the programme, in line with the Scottish Government’s COVID-19 guidance.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
