M8 West Street Ramps

M8 West Street Ramps

1 March 2021

Concrete Investigation

Concrete investigation and testing of the bridge joints of the M8 West Street Ramps at Junction 21 will take place from Monday 22nd February until 5th March 2021, with overnight traffic restrictions on Monday 1st March and Tuesday 2nd March 2021, between 8pm and 6am, each night on Dalintober Street. These works will be carried out from below the structures.

This scheme, with a value of £60,000 will benefit around 10,742 vehicles using this route each day, by ensuring the safe continued operation of the structure and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in future.

The work requires a total closure of the offside two-lane section of Dalintober Street leading to the M8 Junction 21 on-slip road to test the half-joints of the West Street On-ramp that overhang Dalintober Street. The two nearside lanes of the M74 Junction 1 on-slip road from Dalintober Street will remain open.

During the closure traffic will be diverted from Wallace Street to Carnoustie Street and then the Paisley Road onto Seaward Street before returning to the M8 Junction 21 westbound on-slip road. It is expected to take between 5 to 10 minutes to complete the diversion so please allow extra time for your journey.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
