M8 Woodside Viaducts

BRIDGE INVESTIGATIONS ON M8 JUNCTIONS 16-17 WOODSIDE VIADUCTS COMMENCES 1st FEBRUARY
Structural investigations on the M8 Woodside Viaducts between Junction 16 and Junction 17 of the M8 motorway will take place overnight from Monday 1st February until Sunday 28th March 2021. The work will take place between 8pm and 6am, each night.
The scheme will be undertaken using a series of phased lane closures of the A81 Garscube Road, A804 Phoenix Road/Dobbie’s Loan and New City Road. No closures are required on the M8 motorway to complete the works.
The works involve a series of specialist concrete condition tests and surveys to the underside of both M8 Woodside Viaduct structures. This work, with a value of £650,000, will benefit around 100,000 vehicles using this route each day by allowing the planning of concrete repairs, which will reduce the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
